Terms and conditions

Availability and advance booking

  • Spring Bank holiday minimum 4 night booking

At these peak times pitches must be either vacated or re-booked by 11.30am.

Pitch location

Please note that tents and caravans are on different fields a couple of minutes walk apart. Larger motorhomes are always sited with the caravans on gravel hardstands, smaller motorhomes and campervans will usually be booked on to gravel hardstands too but if ground conditions are suitable at the time of arrival then smaller motorhomes may be given the option of a grass pitch subject to availability. If you have a smaller motorhome or campervan and you specifically request a grass pitch when you book we will do our best to accommodate this although wet weather and/or wet ground conditions may necessitate moving your booking to gravel hardstand.

One night bookings

Sorry, but unless you are walking to us or cycling to us we do not accept one night bookings in advance for busy times of the season - please ring on the day for availability. These busy times are generally every Friday and Saturday plus school and bank holidays. As a rule between Sunday night and Thursday night there is usually no problem taking one night bookings in advance so please contact us by email/telephone to make a booking.

BBQs and Camp Fires

We are sorry but for the health, safety and wellbeing of all our customers we do not allow fires of any type on the park. This includes open camp fires, fire pits, wood burning stoves and anything else burning wood. We do however allow BBQ's burning either Charcoal or Gas. Low BBQ's must be placed on blocks and must not be allowed to scorch the grass.

Electricity for campers

Please note that all our tent pitches now have electric hook up and this is included in the pitch price. For your own safety if you are using electric in your tent you must please ensure you are using a mobile mains power unit with RCD and overload trip protection.

Arrivals

On your date of arrival we ask that you do not arrive before 2.00pm - this gives those people who are leaving time to get away from the park before others start arriving. If your unit is particularly large or long, please inform us when booking.

Parking

If you have visitors coming to see you during your holiday then please ask them to park their car in the visitors car park which is at the entrance of the caravan park - for this there is no charge. Extra cars on the Caravan Park take up room and will be charged for. For security reasons all visitors cars on the car park must give their registration numbers to reception. All visitors' cars must leave the park by 10pm.

Commercial vehicles

While we do not have a specific policy regarding commercial & sign written vehicles we do reserve the right to refuse access to anyone with a vehicle which we feel does not fit in with the surroundings and traditions of Wood Nook.

Dogs at Wood Nook

Dogs are welcomed on the park but they must be kept under control and on a short lead at all times, this includes ensuring they cannot escape from your tent or awning when another dog passes by. Noisy dogs are not welcome on park. Additionally, if your dog is of a breed / crossbreed that could be seen as being intimidatory to other dogs or their owners - either by it's size or breed - we would ask you to seriously consider whether bringing your dog on holiday with you is the correct thing to do. *Dogs on the banned dogs list are not welcome at Wood Nook, whether your dog is a banned type depends on what it looks like, rather than its breed or name*. (www.gov.uk)

We do have a large dog walking area that is fully enclosed - you may let your dog off the lead here but an abundance of small wildlife such as rabbits & pheasants means that your dog may not return! Please also be aware that neighbouring fields may contain sheep, lambs or cows at any time of year so your dog must be on a lead and under control while while using local footpaths. Dog owners must clean up any fouling on the park, driveway and footpaths. Dogs must not be left unattended anywhere on the park.

Free Wi-Fi Internet at Wood Nook

Wood Nook has a high speed fibre link from our local exchange so is able to give customers free wifi to all pitches for tablets, smartphones, and laptops. Please note though that most smart TV's will only function as a standard TV due to security restrictions with the park wi-fi.
