TO ASSIST US IN MAINTAINING A COVID SAFE ENVIRONMENT WE ARE ACCEPTING A REDUCED NUMBER OF CUSTOMERS FOR THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE, LIMITING CARAVAN & MOTORHOME BOOKINGS AND ONLY USING A REDUCED NUMBER OF TENT PITCHES. TOILETS, SHOWERS AND LAUNDRY FACILITIES WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL MAY 17th 2021. WATER AND WASTE DISPOSAL WILL BE AVAILABLE AS NORMAL.
AS PART OF COVID 19 REOPENING GUIDELINES IT IS A LEGAL REQUIREMENT THAT THE NAMES, ADDRESSES AND DATES OF BIRTH OF ALL MEMBERS OF YOUR PARTY OVER THE AGE OF 16 ARE RECORDED WHEN A BOOKING IS MADE AS THESE DETAILS ARE BEING LINKED TO THE NHS TRACK & TRACE SYSTEM AND WILL BE KEPT FOR A MINIMUM OF 21 DAYS AFTER YOUR DEPARTURE. THIS IS NOW LIVE ON OUR BOOKING SYSTEM. WE ARE ALSO NOW DISPLAYING THE NEW NHS QR CODE FOR YOU TO SCAN ON YOUR ARRIVAL WITH YOUR SMART PHONE.
We want to make sure that we keep both our customers and visitors safe at all times. With this in mind we have to follow Government, BH&HPA and HSE guidance in order for us to be able to open. We have our own Health & Safety Consultant on park to go through what we can and what we cannot do to comply with all the current COVID 19 guidelines. We will need you to stay to the 2m distancing whilst on park.
Please note these new T & C’s are also now added to our current Park Rules and being COVID 19, are non-negotiable. They will be updated regularly along with the current government and HSE guidelines.
Reception – on arrival 1 person or couple in at a time. Please stay outside and allow 2m social distancing whilst waiting, thank you. We have gone back to the old reception in order to be able to put a screen up and keep all of us safe. Please only come to reception if checking in or in an emergency, otherwise please leave a message on 01756 752412 , email firstname.lastname@example.org, or text 07775604141 (please do not phone this number).
On checking in please make sure you have given us all contact details for everyone in your party for the Track and Trace program that we have to complete in order for you to stay on park. For our seasonal pitches and owners, please let us know by text when you have departed to go home and text when you are returning back to us, thank you.
Do not come to Wood Nook if you are suffering with any of the symptoms of Coronavirus. If you do come down with symptoms whilst here, you must return to your residential address immediately and inform us once there.
Strictly NO friends or family are allowed to visit here at Wood Nook unless they are booked on to their own pitch.
The children’s play area will be open under adult supervision only. It is therefore your responsibility to make sure that your children’s hands are washed or sanitised before and after they have been on the play area.
Rubbish and recycling;
All general domestic waste including paper tissues and food waste MUST be placed in a sealed or knotted bag or bin liner before being placed in our dustbins. Please note that all small domestic dustbins have been removed from the park so please use the bulk commercial dustbins available in each at the entrance to each field which will have a GREEN label. Bulk recycling bins will also be available on the park next to the main dustbins and are clearly labelled with BLUE signage .
Dishwashing areas – adhere to the 2m rule.
Whilst on the tent field, you will notice we have closed off every other pitch. This is to keep the required social distancing and not for anyone to use for gatherings. You must stay on your own pitch, but we have no problem with you sitting out and chatting to each other from a safe distance.
Whilst our lovely shops are delighted to have the tourists back, we do ask that you respect our local community and be aware of the Spar and other local shops queuing systems. If you can bring any store cupboard items from home and just use the local shops for fresh produce whilst things get back to some kind of normality, then they would be very grateful, they just don’t want a massive influx of holiday makers and not being able to keep stock levels for everyone.
IF YOU HAVE A BOOKING WHICH HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO THE VIRUS PLEASE LET US KNOW WHEN YOU HAVE SOME NEW DATES - ALL WE NEED IS YOUR ORIGINAL BOOKING NUMBER TO TRANSFER THE DETAILS.

For the foreseeable future all pitches must be pre-booked - we are sorry but will not be accepting any 'turn up on the day' customers hoping to find a pitch.
Bookings can be made online: Please note that only 1 pitch can be booked per booking so if you need to book 2 or more pitches please make an individual booking for each pitch required. We regularly get customers contacting us afraid to make one booking in case they cannot make a second booking - please note that if there are less than 5 pitches remaining for your chosen dates the system will tell you while you are making the first booking, for example it might say 'only 3 remaining'. If this message does not appear you can assume there are more than 5 pitches available.
You will find an area for any notes associated with the bookings on each booking form so if you wish to be sited near to someone you are coming with please add their name here. It is also helpful if you can add an estimated time of arrival if possible, thank you. Please note our new arrival time for touring and tent pitches which is 2pm and all pitches must be vacated by 11.30am on your stated day of departure. This is to ensure we do not get departing customers meeting arriving customers on our approach road and to give us time to thoroughly clean our facilities to comply with Covid 19 regulations.
2 important things that we need to know;
- when you make a booking the first thing we ask you is the length of your caravan or motorhome. Please ensure you give us an accurate measurement including the towbar and including any bike racks etc that may be on the back. Some of our pitches back up to a dry stone wall so if you tell us that your unit is 5.8m but including the towbar it’s actually 7m this can cause issues at busy times if we have no bigger pitches to move you to.
- if your caravan is not of a standard UK design – so if the door is on the opposite side to normal or you have a caravan or campervan which the awning fits on the back (such as the new Swift Basecamp) – please ensure that we know about this by adding a note when making the booking, this will assist us in reserving a suitable pitch for you, thank you.
TV reception; standard digital TV reception at Wood Nook is reasonably good but does seem to vary according to the the quality / age / type of your aerial. Modern directional aerials get the best reception, old style ‘flying saucer’ type caravan aerials do struggle at times. Additionally if you use a satellite dish to pick up TV in your caravan/motorhome/tent please inform us when booking by adding a booking note as some of our pitches are unsuitable for satellite receivers due to nearby trees. Although we can’t guarantee a certain pitch we will do what we can to ensure your pitch is suitable for a satellite – but you do need to tell us!

Wood Nook Caravan Park
We always try to be as flexible as possible, however, dependant upon when you cancel your booking we will usually do one of two things; if your booking is further than 28 days away and you have paid only a deposit (usually £25 for a touring pitch or £150 for the holiday home) we will refund your deposit. If you have paid in full and are still more than 28 days away from your scheduled arrival date we’ll either offer you a refund or offer to hold your booking over to a future date – in effect a credit note. If your cancellation is within 28 days (by which time most bookings will have been paid in full) we will not usually offer a refund; we will however offer you a credit note for a future date so you should not lose your money assuming you use your credit note. We do not need to know the future date at the time of cancellation as you’ll just need to make a note of your booking number but please note we usually expect a credit note to be used in the same calendar year. If however your cancellation is for a date which is late in the season we’re happy to hold a booking over to the following year.
At Wood Nook we do not offer a booking cancellation insurance option so to ensure your booking is covered we suggest you take out an annual travel insurance policy which should, in most circumstances, cover you if you need to cancel your booking with us, just as you would if you were travelling abroad.
Terms of booking
How we process your information
The park is open each year from the 1st March to the 4th January, weather permitting. Weather conditions such as hard frosts and snow may dictate an earlier close down or later opening than usual.
Wood Nook Caravan Park invites owners of touring caravans and motorhomes to enjoy a relaxing break in the Yorkshire Dales.
- Pitches are available on a per-nightly basis, monthly, and full season. Electricity is also available on all caravan, motorhome and tent pitches. We have special camping rates for hikers, please call direct to arrange.
- Due to fire regulations and the increasing size of tents, caravans, and awnings NO gazebos, event shelters or other similar additions will be allowed.
- All extra vehicles (including day visitors) will be charged £3.00 per day/night, up to a maximum £30.00 per stay.
- Monthly terms are also available – please enquire for more details.
Seasonal Touring Pitches
Seasonal/ long-stay pitches are available at Wood Nook for 8-month and 10-month seasons.
These pitches are ideal if your tourer spends most of its time on the driveway and also if you want a break from towing. Electricity is included.
Accommodation for Hire
We have just one of our holiday homes available for you to hire for self-catering holidays.
We have just purchased a brand new holiday home for you to hire. Electricity and gas are included in the price, cutlery, crockery, pans, duvets, and pillows are provided for your use. Although this holiday home is 6 berth, 2 bedrooms and a fold out double in the lounge, the maximum number of adults we allow to stay overnight is 4 as the 2nd bedroom twin beds are only suitable for children. Dogs and other pets are not allowed in this holiday home so if you have a pet allergy you’ll know that this holiday home should be fine for you.
Prices are for 1 week arriving Saturday 3pm, departing Saturday 9:30am. Exceptions to this arrangement may be available late and early in the season, at short notice only (maximum 10 days in advance). Sorry no Pets at any time.
Prices quoted are for up to three adults plus children. Each extra adult – £5.00 per night or £25 per week. All prices are inclusive of VAT at the prevailing rate. Short breaks available March to May and October. June to September please check for availability.
FULL payment is needed when confirming a short break. For all other holidays a deposit of £150 per week is required no later than 7 working days after provisionally booking by phone. The balance is due no later than 28 days before arrival.
Caravan park facilities
A full range of facilities is available to visitors, including heated toilets & showers, washing facilities, children’s play area, and free Wi-Fi. Please note that we have now closed our site shop as there is a new Spar shop & fuel station with a full range of goods including an excellent butchers store just 1 mile away in Threshfield. We will though continue to stock gas, gaz, regulators etc and also a small selection of cold drinks & milk.
As Wood Nook is a quiet campsite we do not accept group camping of any kind, including all adult groups, D of E groups, unaccompanied youths or more than 3 families together that know each other. If, upon your arrival, it is apparent that you are part of a group you may not be allowed access on to the caravan and camping park. Therefore if you think that we may consider that you may be part of a ‘group’ please ring or email us to discuss your requirements.
